A downloadable game

Be patient, it's a long way to the bottom.

Heavily inspired by Anomidae's INTERLOPER webseries, Sourcevoid Online is a massively online multiplayer fan game where you literally fall onto contemporary and forgotten community maps created for Valve’s original line-up of Source Engine titles.

Powered by a custom, remarkably accurate Source Engine asset importer developed for Godot Engine; the game allows you to explore countless maps from Half-Life 2, Counter-Strike: Source, Team Fortress 2Garry's Mod and other games.

You can play alone or gather with your friends by inputting the same spawn seed on the main menu. Featuring proximity text and voice chats, if lucky enough you might randomly come across and interact with other players exploring the vast void... but be wary: the entities native to this environment do not want you to be here. Can you make it to the door?

This game requires Steam and a legal copy of Half-Life 2 to be installed.
Counter-Strike: Source and Team Fortress 2 are optional but required for all assets to display properly.

I downloaded the game and tested a few maps and it was great! But for some reason, it's not authenticating me? I have Half-Life 2 and Team Fortress 2 installed, it SHOULD work!

1/10 it takes way to long to actually get into the game

please make the falling wait an optional thing

kinda sucks how long it takes to actually land, since i usually get chased down shortly after and have to enter again, its a bit discouraging

how long does it usually take to connect to a server? feels like its been a while now

pretty freakin cool when it lets me connect to the servers

im so #freaking hyped

do you plan on making soundscapes work in the future?

Hello, report any issue you are experiencing on the forum
https://forum.333software.net/c/sourcevoid-online/sourcevoid-online-support/

one of the most immersive horror game

Nick* here, creepy as hell exploration so far. Seeing old rp maps I once found myself playing on now left to the void, and some random faces here and there. Cant say I enjoy the falling but getting to your destination is never easy.

very very impressive game, being able to load ANY bsp is so fucking cool . though the idea of having to fall for possibly hours in online is kinda weird though ... i'd prefer having less restrictions i think ?

(1 edit)

It's really cool but I am not a fan of how inconsistent it is to actually start the game and get *somewhere*. I know the concept is for it to be somewhat creepypasta-like, but having to relaunch the game over and over is pretty unncessary and silly. The entire system around lucky seeds and 'custom seed rejected, you can't force luck' is kind of weird and unintuitive in a way that I don't think it actually adds to the game.

Also some of the footstep sounds have a really unpleasant high pitched noise in the sound file

(1 edit)

I think I stacked too many explosive barrels on d2_coast_03, maybe they exploded? It froze instantly, and I was stuck on the colour reduced looking filter. It's a strange sensation feeling that 1:1 HL2 gameplay in a different engine like this

heyyyy the game looks banging from the menu but I've been falling for a WHILE while and still haven't touched down. anybody with playtime can tell me what usually is the time for this game?

i really like interlope games buts its sad that i cant play from the restrictions

ive been falling for atleast 1 hour and i havent reached grounds

This is one of the greatest experiences with gaming I've had in recent memory. Every session is unique and memorable and the game is genuinely intense. If you're even remotely a fan of what this game has to offer? Please, do yourself a favor and dive in.

I don't think there's a better game out there

LemonChecker [not] automated review:

Friends made: Yes

Okay but seriously this game is really cool. I've been playing it for like half a year now. Nox even added a few of my maps to the game, which is awesome. I highly recommend this game for anyone that likes exploration, liminality, or the Interloper series.

(And in case it's against the rules and some moderator is reading this, this review isn't actually automated, that's just a bit)
